Charlize Theron Returns in The Old Guard 2 - and This Time, Uma Thurman’s Got Beef
Immortality isn’t what it used to be.

It’s been five long years since we first met the unkillable mercenaries of The Old Guard, and now, they’re finally back - slightly older, possibly wiser, and definitely bloodier. The Old Guard 2 just landed on Netflix, and this time the stakes are even higher: Andy (Charlize Theron) is no longer immortal, the team is scattered, and Uma Thurman has shown up looking like she just walked off the set of Kill Bill with a personal vendetta.
The original cast is all back, but this time, Victoria Mahoney (who worked on Lovecraft Country and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) is in the director’s chair, promising a more emotional, character-driven continuation that still leaves room for mayhem.
And if you’re wondering whether Charlize is still doing her own stunts - yes. Yes, she is. Even while allegedly not being immortal anymore.
Netflix sequels don’t have the best track record, but The Old Guard franchise has always been a bit of an outlier - partly because the first film snuck in actual feelings between the bullet wounds. This time around, expect more exploration of Andy’s humanity, plus some stylish globe-hopping, sci-fi lore drops and emotional reckonings.
The Old Guard 2 is available globally on Netflix now. Check out the trailer below.
