Netflix is collaborating with the NFL for the first time to produce the sporting docuseries “Quarterback” - following Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota during the 2022 NFL season. The trailer release on June 14 highlights some exciting scenes from the eight-episode show.

Netflix commented that the three quarterbacks were “mic’d up for every single game, from the beginning of the 2022 season to its conclusion”, so we should be expecting a true inside look and more than just a basic documentary.

To keep the series on point, two-time Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning acted as an executive producer under the Omaha Productions banner. Manning described the project as "a unique and intimate look at what life is like as a starting QB".

Each episode of the series will focus on a small part of the full year, including significant ups and down for the quarterbacks and what they accomplished at the end of the season. Patrick Mahomes' broke the record for the most offensive yards in a season, leading to his second Super Bowl victory while Cousins and Mariota contributed to a brutal comeback in their league. All these exciting moments are sure to help make Quarterback a great series and perhaps increase the popularity of the NFL more outside the US.

According to Netflix, "Quarterback" will be released on July 12 giving fans a stir in anticipation for the second season, already planned for release in September.
