The Helicopter Heist Lands on Netflix in November
The infamous 2009 Västberga helicopter heist, one of Sweden’s most audacious crimes, is being brought to life in Netflix’s thrilling new miniseries.

Release date: November 22, 2024.
The G4S heist in Västberga in 2009 shocked Sweden, largely due to the spectacular planning and the fact that the robbers used a stolen helicopter to land on the roof of the building and then escape.
The circumstances surrounding the heist were truly sensational — spike strips were thrown onto the roads, and a fake bomb was placed to prevent the police from deploying their own helicopters in the chase. The loot, totaling 39 million SEK, was never recovered, though several men were later convicted for the crime.
You can see how this entire story is practically made for the big screen, and now the time has finally come. Based on Jonas Bonnier’s 2017 book, Netflix is releasing an eight-part miniseries where we get to follow the events from start to finish.
The Helicopter Heist will be available to stream on Netflix starting November 22. Until then, we’ll have to settle for the trailer.
